The Level 3 SVQ/ NVQ Diploma in Supervising Licensed Asbestos Removal is a nationally recognised qualification designed to enable individuals to demonstrate their competence in supervising asbestos removal works. This qualification is ideal for those who oversee asbestos removal teams, ensuring the process is carried out safely, efficiently, and in compliance with regulations.

Learners are required to demonstrate both practical skills and a thorough understanding of the technical requirements involved in supervising asbestos removal. The qualification allows candidates to showcase their competence in a specialist subject area, making them highly skilled in managing and supervising asbestos removal activities.

Assessment and Pathways:

To achieve the qualification, candidates must complete seven mandatory units and select two optional units from the list below:

Mandatory Units – Complete ALL units:

• Confirming work activities and resources for an occupational work area in the workplace
• Developing and maintaining professional working relationships in the workplace
• Confirming the occupational method of work in the workplace
• Implementing and maintaining health, safety, and welfare in the workplace
• Coordinating and organising work operations in the workplace
• Installing and removing licensed asbestos enclosure or containment areas in the workplace
• Removing licensed asbestos in the workplace

Optional Units – Complete TWO units:

• Monitoring progress of work against schedules in the workplace
• Confirming work meets contractual, industry, and manufacturers’ standards in the workplace
• Repairing or encapsulating asbestos-containing materials in the workplace

Upon successful completion of the Level 3 NVQ Diploma in Supervising Licensed Asbestos Removal, candidates will be eligible to apply for the Gold CSCS Card, recognising their expertise as a qualified supervisor in licensed asbestos removal. The Gold CSCS Card is an important industry credential that demonstrates an advanced level of competence and leadership in the construction sector.
