SVQ/NVQ Diploma – Demolition (Level 3)
The Level 3 NVQ/SVQ Diploma in Demolition is a nationally recognised qualification designed for individuals working in the demolition industry who have developed advanced skills and knowledge. This qualification is aimed at experienced operatives, chargehands, and plant operators seeking to formalise their expertise and demonstrate competence at a higher supervisory or technical level.
Candidates are required to compile a portfolio of evidence that demonstrates their ability to meet the learning outcomes and assessment criteria for each unit. Assessment is conducted in a workplace environment under the guidance of a suitably experienced assessor.
Upon successful completion, candidates will be eligible to apply for the Gold CSCS Card, recognising their advanced skills and professional competence in demolition.

Pathways and Units
Pathway 1 – Demolition (Top Man) Operative
Mandatory Units – Complete all 7:
Removing and segregating components and materials in demolition and/or refurbishment
Confirming work activities and resources for an occupational work area
Developing and maintaining good occupational working relationships
Confirming the occupational method of work
Implementing and maintaining health, safety, environmental, and welfare practices
Co-ordinating and confirming dimensional control requirements of the work
Installing, constructing, maintaining, dismantling, and removing temporary works
Optional Units – Complete 3 units:
Dismantling and/or demolishing masonry and/or concrete structures
Dismantling and/or demolishing roofs and/or cladding
Dismantling and/or demolishing timber structures
Dismantling and/or demolishing metal structures
Pathway 2 – Demolition Chargehand
Mandatory Units – Complete all 9:
Removing and segregating components and materials in demolition and/or refurbishment
Confirming work activities and resources for an occupational work area
Developing and maintaining good occupational working relationships
Confirming the occupational method of work
Implementing and maintaining health, safety, environmental, and welfare practices
Co-ordinating and confirming dimensional control requirements of the work
Co-ordinating and organising work operations
Monitoring progress of work against schedules
Controlling, directing, and guiding the operation of plant or machinery
Optional Units – Complete 3 units:
Dismantling and/or demolishing masonry and/or concrete structures
Dismantling and/or demolishing roofs and/or cladding
Dismantling and/or demolishing timber structures
Dismantling and/or demolishing metal structures
Pathway 3 – Demolition Plant Operative
Mandatory Units – Complete all 5:
Confirming work activities and resources for an occupational work area

Confirming the occupational method of work

Monitoring progress of work against schedules
Optional Units – Complete 1 unit:
Operating plant or machinery to dismantle and/or demolish structures above 30 metres
Operating plant or machinery to dismantle and/or demolish structures up to 30 metres
