The Level 2 SVQ/NVQ Diploma in Plastering (Construction) provides a nationally recognised qualification for individuals working in the construction industry who wish to specialise in plastering. The aim of this qualification is to recognise the knowledge, skills, and competence demonstrated by individuals in the workplace.
This course is also part of Jump-Start Academy, under Pathway 2: Learn a Trade and Achieve NVQ, which is necessary for obtaining a Blue CSCS card. The intensive courses are designed for those with some experience in Painting & Decorating, Plastering, and Tiling. Progress and assessment will be conducted throughout the training with the guidance of an assessor.
This qualification is competence-based, meaning candidates must demonstrate the required level of competence as outlined in the units. Assessment involves measuring a candidate’s skills, knowledge, and understanding against the established standards.
The qualification must be assessed in a work environment, following the Construction Skills’ Consolidated Assessment Strategy for Construction and the Built Environment. It must be internally assessed by a suitably experienced and qualified assessor.
Candidates are required to create a portfolio of evidence that showcases their achievement of all learning outcomes and assessment criteria for each unit.
