The Level 2 SVQ/NVQ Diploma in Waterproof Membrane Roofing Systems is designed to recognise the knowledge, skills, and competence of individuals working in this specialised area of the construction industry. The qualification aims to acknowledge the expertise demonstrated by individuals in the workplace.
This qualification is competence-based, requiring candidates to demonstrate the level of competence described in the units. Assessment involves evaluating a candidate’s skills, knowledge, and understanding against the standards set in the qualification.
The qualification must be assessed in a work environment and in line with the ConstructionSkills’ Consolidated Assessment Strategy for Construction and the Built Environment. It must be internally assessed by an appropriately experienced and qualified assessor.
Candidates are required to compile a portfolio of evidence that demonstrates their achievement of all learning outcomes and assessment criteria for each unit.

- Pathway 1: Reinforced Bitumen Membrane Roofing
- Pathway 2: Single Ply Membrane Roofing
- Pathway 3: Liquid Applied Membrane Roofing Systems
To achieve the qualification, candidates must complete the five Mandatory units applicable to all Pathways, along with the required Mandatory Unit from one of the chosen Pathways.
