The Level 3 SVQ/NVQ Diploma in Wall and Floor Tiling is a nationally recognised qualification designed to acknowledge the advanced skills, knowledge, and competence of individuals working in the specialised area of wall and floor tiling within the construction industry. This qualification allows learners to gain recognition for their expertise, enhancing their ability to take on more responsibility in the workplace and advance in their careers.
This qualification is ideal for those already working as tilers with senior-level experience. If you have the knowledge and practical experience in tiling, this qualification provides the opportunity to formally recognise your skills and demonstrate your proficiency in the trade.
Assessment and Pathways:
To achieve the qualification, candidates must complete ALL of the mandatory units, plus TWO optional units from the following list:
Mandatory Units – Complete ALL units:
- Conforming to general health, safety, and welfare in the workplace
- Confirming the occupational method of work in the workplace
- Developing and maintaining good occupational working relationships in the workplace
- Confirming work activities and resources for an occupational work area in the workplace
- Prepare backgrounds for tiling in the workplace
- Tiling wall and floor surfaces in the workplace
- Producing complex ceramic, mosaic, and stone surface finishes in the workplace
Optional Units – Complete TWO units:
- Laying sand and cement screeds in the workplace
- Providing drainage for tiled surfaces in the workplace
- Laying under tile heating systems and tiling surfaces in the workplace
- Producing internal and external sand and cement backgrounds in the workplace
Upon successful completion of the Level 3 NVQ Diploma in Wall and Floor Tiling, candidates will be eligible to apply for the Gold CSCS Card, which recognises their advanced skills and expertise in wall and floor tiling. The Gold CSCS Card is a highly regarded qualification within the construction industry, signifying a high level of competence and professional recognition.
