The Level 2 SVQ/NVQ Diploma in Associated Industrial Services Occupations – Passive Fire Protection (Construction) provides a nationally recognised qualification for individuals working in this specialised area of construction. This qualification is competence-based, meaning candidates must demonstrate the required level of competence as described in the unit documentation.

To achieve the qualification, candidates must complete the four Mandatory units, along with two Optional units. This qualification is designed for construction workers with a minimum of one year of experience in the trade, specifically those involved in installing fire protection structures within buildings.

If you have some knowledge and basic skills and are already working in construction, you can apply at any time. Once registered, you will receive an NVQ workbook to complete. There is no formal deadline, so you can work through it at your own pace. Catalin, as an assessor, will provide support if you need help with the writing portion of the workbook.

In addition to the workbook, you will need to provide evidence of your workplace activities and learning outcomes for each unit.

This qualification is competence-based, and candidates must demonstrate the required level of competence as outlined in the units. Assessment involves measuring your skills, knowledge, and understanding against the standards set in the qualification.

The qualification must be assessed in a work environment, in line with the ConstructionSkills’ Consolidated Assessment Strategy, and will be internally assessed by an appropriately experienced and qualified assessor.
