SVQ/NVQ Diploma – Cladding Occupations (Construction)
The SVQ/NVQ in Cladding Occupations is a nationally recognised, competence-based qualification designed to validate the skills, knowledge, and expertise of individuals working in this specialised area of the construction industry.
This qualification allows learners to gain formal recognition for their skills and prepares them to take on greater responsibility in the workplace, ensuring safe and effective performance in cladding operations. Upon completion, candidates may be eligible to apply for the Gold CSCS Card, demonstrating advanced competence in cladding occupations.

Learners will demonstrate competence in:
Conforming to general health, safety, and welfare requirements in the workplace
Following productive working practices and maintaining safe working standards
Moving, handling, and storing materials and resources effectively
Preparing and installing roof and wall cladding systems
Repairing or removing existing cladding systems (depending on pathway)
Completing work in compliance with industry standards and regulations
Pathways and Units
Mandatory Units (All Candidates)
Conforming to general health, safety, and welfare in the workplace
Conforming to productive working practices in the workplace
Moving, handling, and storing resources in the workplace
Pathway 1 – Roof Sheeting and Cladding
Mandatory Units – Complete all:
Preparing resources for roof sheeting and cladding in the workplace
Installing roof sheeting and cladding systems in the workplace
Installing roof sheeting and cladding rainwater goods in the workplace
Optional Units – Complete at least ONE (if applicable)
Refurbishing roof sheeting and cladding
Repairing roof sheeting and cladding systems
Installing solar collectors on roofs
Pathway 2 – Specialised Cladding and Rainscreen Systems
Mandatory Units – Complete all:
Preparing backgrounds to receive wall cladding systems in the workplace
Repairing wall cladding systems in the workplace
Removing existing wall cladding systems in the workplace
Optional Units – Complete at least ONE (if applicable)
Installing rainscreen wall cladding systems
Refurbishing specialised cladding systems
Preparing and operating MEWPs for wall cladding
Assessment & Certification
Assessment: Work-based observation, portfolio of evidence, and professional discussion
Certification: Level 3 SVQ/NVQ Diploma in Cladding Occupations
CSCS Card: Eligible for Gold CSCS Card upon successful completion
Duration: Flexible; dependent on candidate experience and pathway
