This qualification offers a nationally recognised certification for individuals working in this sector. Its aim is to acknowledge the knowledge, skills, and competence demonstrated by individuals in the workplace.

As a competence-based qualification, candidates must demonstrate the required level of competence as described in the units. Assessment involves evaluating a candidate’s skills, knowledge, and understanding against the standards set within the qualification.

The qualification must be assessed in accordance with the Construction Sector Qualifications Strategy and will be internally assessed by a suitably experienced and qualified assessor.

Candidates are required to compile a portfolio of evidence that demonstrates their achievement of all learning outcomes and assessment criteria for each unit.

PATHWAYS AND ASSESSMENT

Candidates must complete all of the Mandatory units in the pathway, as well as any Additional Units. However, please note that the Additional Units will not contribute towards the overall qualification.

Pathway 1 : Licensed Asbestos .

Mandatory Units – candidates must complete all units in this group

  • Conforming to general health, safety and welfare in the workplace
  • Conforming to productive working practices in the workplace
  • Moving, handling and storing resources in the workplace
  • Installing and Removing Enclosure or Containment Areas for the Removal of Licensed Asbestos Materials in the Workplace
  • Stripping and Removing Licensed Asbestos Materials in the Workplace

Optional Units – Complete ONE unit

  • Removing materials/deposits by water jetting in the workplace.
  • Cutting and breaking materials by water jetting in the workplace

Pathway 2 : FAÇADE PRESERVATION- Complete all of the Mandatory units plus ONE Optional unit

Mandatory Unit:

  • Conforming to general health, safety and welfare in the workplace
  • Conforming to productive working practices in the workplace
  • Moving, handling and storing resources in the workplace
  • Setting up and preparing water jetting equipment in the workplace

Optional Units – complete ONE unit

  • Cleaning facade surfaces in the workplace.
  • Restoring facade surfaces in the workplace

Pathway 3 : DAMAGE REPAIR AND RESURFACING- Complete all of the Mandatory units plus ONE Optional unit

Mandatory Unit:

  • Conforming to general health, safety and welfare in the workplace
  • Conforming to productive working practices in the workplace
  • Moving, handling and storing resources in the workplace
  • Assessing internal property fittings and fixtures for repair and resurfacing activities in the workplace
  • Preparing internal property fittings and fixtures for repair and resurfacing in the workplace
  • Repairing and resurfacing internal property fittings and fixtures in the workplace

Pathway 4 : INSTALLING PROTECTIVE COMPONENTS- Complete all of the Mandatory units plus

Mandatory Units:

  • Conforming to general health, safety and welfare in the workplace
  • Conforming to productive working practices in the workplace
  • Moving, handling and storing resources in the workplace
  • Installing, maintaining and removing work area protection and safety equipment in the workplace
  • Installing protective components in the workplace
