The Level 3 Diploma in Cladding has been carefully designed to assess and validate a candidate’s expertise, proficiency, and practical skills in Roof and Wall Sheeting and Cladding / Rainscreen Wall Cladding Systems.
Learners must demonstrate a solid understanding of core subject areas, showcasing both theoretical knowledge and practical abilities. In addition, they will need to exhibit occupational competence in a specialised area, ensuring they meet the high standards required within the industry. Upon successful completion, candidates will be awarded the Level 3 NVQ/SVQ Diploma and be eligible to apply for the Gold CSCS Card, marking their expertise as a qualified worker in cladding occupation.
ASSESSMENT AND PATHWAYS:
Pathway 1 – Roof and Wall Sheeting and Cladding
Candidates must complete 8 Mandatory Units and may also choose to complete one of the optional Units if desired.
Mandatory Units- Complete all
- Confirming work activities and resources for an occupational work area in the workplace
- Developing and maintaining good occupational working relationships in the workplace
- Confirming the occupational method of work in the workplace
- Conforming to general health, safety and welfare in the workplace
- Preparing resources for the installation of sheeting and cladding materials on roofs and walls in the workplace
- Installing sheeting and cladding systems on roofs and walls in the workplace
- Installing sheeting and cladding rainwater goods on roofs and walls in the workplace
- Installing sheeting and cladding systems to curved and complex roof and wall formations in the workplace
Optional Units- Complete one unit
- Refurbishing sheeting and cladding on roofs, walls or rainscreen systems in the workplace
- Repairing sheeting and cladding systems (including rainscreen) in the workplace
- Installing solar collectors to roofs in the workplace
- Preparing and operating scissor-type mobile elevating work platforms (MEWP) in the workplace
- Preparing and operating boom-type mobile elevating work platforms (MEWP) in the workplace
- Setting out secondary dimensional work control in the workplace
- Slinging and hand signalling the movement of suspended loads in the workplace
Pathway 2 – Rainscreen Wall Cladding Systems
Candidates must complete 6 Mandatory Units and may also choose to complete 3 of the optional Units if desired.
Mandatory Units- Complete all
- Confirming work activities and resources for an occupational work area in the workplace
- Developing and maintaining good occupational working relationships in the workplace
- Confirming the occupational method of work in the workplace
- Conforming to general health, safety and welfare in the workplace
- Preparing backing walls to receive rainscreen wall cladding systems in the workplace
- Installing rainscreen wall cladding systems in the workplace
Optional Units- Complete 3 units
- Refurbishing sheeting and cladding on roofs, walls or rainscreen systems in the workplace
- Repairing sheeting and cladding systems on roofs and walls (including rainscreen) in the workplace
- Preparing and operating ergonomic manipulating machines to lift and transfer loads in the workplace
- Preparing and operating scissor-type mobile elevating work platforms (MEWP) in the workplace
- Preparing and operating boom-type mobile elevating work platforms (MEWP) in the workplace
- Setting out secondary dimensional work control in the workplace
- Slinging and hand signalling the movement of suspended loads in the workplace
