This qualification provides a nationally recognised certification for individuals working in various areas of construction. Learners must demonstrate skills, knowledge, and understanding in core subject areas, as well as occupational competence in a specialised field.

As a competence-based qualification, candidates must meet the competency levels outlined in the units. The assessment process evaluates a candidate’s skills, knowledge, and understanding against the established standards of the qualification.

Assessments must be conducted in a real work environment, following the ConstructionSkills’ Consolidated Assessment Strategy for Construction and the Built Environment. The assessments are internally conducted by a qualified and experienced assessor.
