This qualification provides a nationally recognised certification for individuals working in various areas of construction. Learners must demonstrate skills, knowledge, and understanding in core subject areas, as well as occupational competence in a specialised field.
As a competence-based qualification, candidates must meet the competency levels outlined in the units. The assessment process evaluates a candidate’s skills, knowledge, and understanding against the established standards of the qualification.
Assessments must be conducted in a real work environment, following the ConstructionSkills’ Consolidated Assessment Strategy for Construction and the Built Environment. The assessments are internally conducted by a qualified and experienced assessor.
Each candidate is required to compile a portfolio of evidence that clearly demonstrates their achievement of all learning outcomes and assessment criteria for each unit.
ASSESSMENT AND PATHWAYS:

There are four mandatory units that all pathways require:- Conforming to general health, safety and welfare in the workplace
- Conforming to productive working practices in the workplace
- Moving, handling and storing resources in the workplace
- Installing fitted furniture in the workplace. Unit Endorsement. One of the following endorsements required:
- Furniture installer
- Bathroom fitter
- Educational furniture fitter
- Commercial kitchen equipment fitter
- Kitchen fitter
- Additional Unit :
- Installing basic plumbing in the workplace. Unit Endorsement.
